10th Annual, 2021 Festival Gala Announced

Belleville Downtown DocFest’s 10th Annual Gala

2021 Gala Event

DocFest’s Gala is a much-loved community celebration and while it can’t be the same this year, we will be safely celebrating our resilient community and our 10th Annual Festival!  We have a special virtual opening night planned and in keeping with tradition, we are kicking off the festival with a remarkable music documentary, paired with a special not-to-be missed music performance. You can stream the Gala feature documentary and the concert straight to your living room.

Gala Film

We are thrilled to present the acclaimed film, Meeting the Beatles in India by two-time Canadian Emmy Award-winning film and television producer-director, Paul Saltzman.

Gala Concert

We’re proud to present Mark Rashotte & Andy Forgie: “Music From Rishikesh. After the Gala film, audience members will be treated to the Festival’s virtual music performance. The show will be coming to you from the historic Empire Theatre in downtown Belleville, home to DocFest’s past Galas.

About the Festival

Instead of 3-days to catch DocFest’s films, audiences will have 10-days from March 5-14, 2021 to watch their favorite picks at a leisurely pace. The festival will include events such as Q&A’s with filmmakers. Virtual watch bubble parties would be a great way to connect and celebrate the coming of Spring. DocFest’s 10th annual program will feature some absolutely must-see films from around the world and right here in the Quinte region.

DocFest organizers are planning a top-notch virtual audience experience using a state-of-the-art on-line platform that makes it simple to watch great films. The team believes the investment in user-friendly technology including 24/7 audience support directly from film viewers screens will be well received. Not to mention apps for Roku and Apple TV.
