2023 Festival Submissions

To send us your film for consideration for the 2023 Belleville Downtown DocFest, please use the online submission form on this page.

Due to limited resources, only those filmmakers whose films are accepted to the festival will be contacted regarding their film submissions. The Festival is grateful to all filmmakers for their continued interest and support.

DocFest reserves the right to rule on all issues not expressly covered in our film submission guidelines. Please read the full submission guidelines on the Submit a Film page.

Film Submission Details

This is the full title of your documentary to appear in our program, schedule and website.
Please provide the title of your film in the original language, to appear with the English title.
The full name or names of the director(s). Please separate names with a comma “, “.
What is the name of the Production Company?
Year of your film’s production
Provide the runtime of your film (in minutes).
What country was the film produced in? If the film is a co-production, please list the countries separated with a comma “, “.
What languages are contained within your film? If the film is multi-lingual, please list languages separated with a comma “, “.

Captions and Subtitles

Open Captioning is a text display of all of the words and sounds heard during a production and assists with making the film more accessible to our audiences.
If English is not the primary language used in your film, DocFest will require subtitles.

Description and Trailer

Put your short (60sec maximum) trailer link (YouTube, Vimeo), or a link to your film’s website here.
Please provide 75-100(max) words.
Please provide 20-30(Max) words.
Please use the following format for awards (one award per line):
Award, Category, Festival, City, Year

Media and Links

For films that are selected for screening at DocFest, we will require a Quicktime file to our specifications.
Please provide accessible links to DropBox or Google Drive in the fields below.
Please include a secure link to your online screener (Vimeo, YouTube, etc.).
Please provide the password to the screener.
Please provide a link to a high resolution poster image for the film. Provide link to an image in jpg or png format (min 1,920×1,200px).
Please use Google Drive or DropBox to include your media with this submission.
Note: If you do not have an image, alternate image or press kit, you can skip these fields.
You will be required to provide high resolution images and a full length QuickTime version of the film in early 2023.

Please Note
