Fanny: The Right to Rock

The untold story of a Filipina-American founded, California garage band that morphed into the ferocious rock group Fanny, the first all female band to release an LP with a major label. Adored by David Bowie, the band’s groundbreaking impact in music has been lost in the mists of time… until now. Fifty years later, bandmates reunite with a new record deal and a second chance to right the wrongs of history.

Proudly supported by Brad Aulthouse and Andrew Bandler, Portfolio Managers at BMO Nesbitt Burns

Invisible Hand

Invisible Hand takes you behind the curtain of the global economy in the world’s first documentary film on the ‘Rights of Nature’ movement, poised as “capitalism’s one true opponent.” In the fall of 2014, for the first time in United States history, an ecosystem filed to defend itself in a lawsuit claiming its ‘right to exist’ in Grant Township, Pennsylvania. For attempting such a radical act, Grant’s rural community of 700 people were sued by a corporation, then by the state government, and are now locked in a battle to defend the watershed they call home through civil disobedience.

Stateless

Michèle Stephenson’s documentary uncovers the complex history of the racist and violent politics of Haiti and the Dominican Republic through the grassroots electoral campaign of a young attorney named Rosa Iris targeted for her work in the present day.
