Chaka Chikodzi

Chaka Chikodzi, a Zimbabwean-Canadian stone sculptor, who has lived in Kingston, Ontario for the past 18 years, is inspired by the beauty and simplicity of the natural rock formations that are unique to Zimbabwe’s landscape.

Chaka is also the founder of the Africville Dandaro Centre (‘dandaro’ means ‘meeting place’) creative spaces for youth to explore arts and culture in Kingston, Peterborough, and Hamilton.

Chaka Chikodzi is the first commissioned film in the Artists at Agnes series at Queens University and is produced by Naomi Okabe and local filmmaker Tess Girard.
